Taylor
Taylor Swift was a rarity in pop: she is the sole celebrity who transitioned from the traditional to the mainstream and become a global pop culture icon. Swift has thrown off her roots in the country as if it were a second-skin, showing herself to be the smartest pop singer/songwriter in her generation. She is able to tap into the current trend and create her personal. Swift's talents are evident in some of the first songs she released, most notably the neodue Tim McGraw. But on her sophomore album Fearless which came out in 2008, Swift could identify her true identity and gain audiences across the globe. The album was able to have significant appeal not just in the U.S. where it racked the record with six platinum singles, due to the Top Ten hits Love Story and the hit single You Belong with Me but throughout the world, with a particular success with Canada, the U.K. Canada and Australia. Swift soared to the top of stardom with Speak Now. The next three years, her fame increased -the albums - Red (2012), Reputation (2014), and 1989 (2014-2015) during which time Swift entered the realm of pop with her skills already established. Although she slowed down her strategy with 2020's stripped down siblings' folklore and Evermore she was still atop the world of pop, a position she kept with the re-recordings of her older catalogs as well as Midnights her chart-topping synth-heavy 2022 album.
